My youngest son Daniel has been on the news over the last couple of days. He has invented an artificial heart that will soon be trialled in humans in Houston Texas. I have spoken with many of you over the past years about this but thought I would share the write up in Tuesday’s Sydney Morning Herald.
Daniel told an interviewer many years ago that he got his passion for this from coming to work (at Ferny Grove High School) with his Mum before and after school and wondering what the students were doing with the pracs I was setting up. He was infatuated with the human torso and every day would pull apart and put it back together – he wasn’t going home unless it was back together. Then after his Dad died from heart failure he has made it his quest to get this done.
I am so proud of his achievements, persistence and his dogged determination. Good to see it finally coming together after years of challenges.
